I used today’s Daily Shoot assignment as an excuse to buy another bouquet of flowers. (Thanks Daily Shoot!). I like the symmetry and simplicity of lilies and wanted to make the most of the incredible sunshine streaming through my windows. I placed the lilies so they were backlit and used my macro lens wide open at f/2.8. The edges of the petals were blown out but I like the effect. Since the focus is so soft anyway, it looks like the edges fade into the light.
